Intervention
Intervention will typically occur in stages ranging from immediate to long term. At all stages of the journey, the survivor’s safety is paramount with predictability and stability providing a baseline for the recovery process.
If you suspect a child is being commercially exploited, please do not try to question the child or trafficker yourself. There are complex issues surrounding familial exploitation and you may inadvertently make the situation worse for the child. Instead, please call your local child abuse hotline and non-emergency police department. You can also call the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children at 1 (800) 843-5678, as well as the National Human Trafficking Hotline at 1 (888) 373-7888, or you can text HELP or INFO to 233733.
